Tragically, 35-year-old Alesia Thomas died in police custody after she was beaten by LAPD officers while she was being arrested for "child endangerment." Ms. Thomas apparently left her two children, one 3-years-old, one 12-years-old, at the Southeast LAPD station after telling police officers that she couldn't care for them because of her on-going drug addiction.
She was later found by police at her home in the 9000 block of South Broadway in L.A., to which she was ultimately beaten while being put under arrest. One officer actually kicked her very hard in her genitals during the arrest, which did some serious damage. She was transported to a local hospital after her arresting officers noticed that she had fallen unconscious.
Five officers are currently being investigated in her death.
